34th Annual Meeting of the European Orthopaedic Reseach Society

SYMPOSIUM APPLICATION

Symposium Submission Information
  • All symposium proposals must be submitted electronically through the congress online platform by 31st January 2026, 23:59 CET.
  • Each symposium must have a main applicant and may optionally include a co-applicant. Please indicate both a symposium chair and a co-chair. The EORS 2026 organizers strongly encourage appointing a young investigator as co-chair. Chairs and co-chairs may be the same individuals as the main applicant and co-applicant.
  • The total duration of each symposium will likely be 60 minutes and should include: one keynote lecture (12 + 3 minutes: presentation + questions/discussion), followed by at least three oral presentations. The exact speaking times will be coordinated with the session chairs. We recommend the following structure, allowing time for the chairs to briefly introduce and conclude the session:
    • 3 presentations: 10 + 3 minutes
    • 4 presentations: 8 + 2 minutes
    • 5 presentations: 6 + 2 minutes
  • The keynote speaker and at least two additional speakers must be selected by the applicants. Ideally, all speakers should be proposed by the applicants. If the list is incomplete, the congress organizers will finalize the symposium’s list of speakers.
  • Applicants, chairs and proposed speakers must register for the congress by the early-bird registration deadline.
  • No support, fee waivers, or discounts will be provided for speakers, chairs, or organizers.
  • Symposium organizers agree to comply with all conditions, deadlines, policies, and decisions of the EORS 2026 Committee.
Evaluation of the Symposium Proposal
The symposium proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  • Novelty, scientific impact, and educational value: the symposium should present original ideas, advance knowledge, and provide meaningful learning opportunities.
  • Relevance to the EORS mission: the proposal should align with EORS’s goal of promoting research and development in orthopaedic surgery and related sciences.
  • Interdisciplinary coordination: the symposium should encourage collaboration across clinical and translational research disciplines.
Upon acceptance of a symposium proposal, the proposed speakers must submit an abstract by 31st March 2026 and register for the congress by the early-bird registration deadline. EORS 2026 reserves the right to merge similar symposium proposals or cancel a symposium if a critical number of abstracts is not received.

We appreciate your interest in proposing a symposium and look forward to seeing you in Madrid!
